WEBINAR: Menopause, Mood & the Modern Woman
Learn how menopause impacts all female organs, including the brain, cognition and mood, and how to address hormonal deficiencies with therapeutic approaches, in this webinar by Felice Gersh, MD.
Overview
Menopause is not just the loss of fertility and periods. It is the process of ovarian aging and culminates in the loss of ovarian production of estrogen (as estradiol) and progesterone. This loss creates a huge metabolic shift in women, affecting all organ systems, including neurological systems. The brain has hormone receptors throughout all areas, and loss of these hormones has significant, yet under-recognized, effects on cognition and mood.
This webinar will provide an overview of what hormones do in the brain and what can be done to ameliorate the impact of hormonal deficiencies on CNS functioning. It will also serve a preview of Dr. Gersh’s new, three-module, online course with us, The Impact of Menopause on the Brain, which is now available for enrollment.
