INTENDED LEARNERS  
This educational activity is specifically designed for healthcare and mental healthcare clinicians and professionals involved and/or interested in the treatment of patients with symptoms of ADHD. 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES  
After participating in this activity, learners should be better able to:  

Module 1: 

· Define ADHD and how it manifests in all age groups
· Describe the contributing factors and underlying causes of ADHD

Module 2: 

· Explain the difference between pharmaceutical and nutritional lithium
· Outline the indications for, and benefits of, nutritional lithium for ADHD treatment

Module 3: 

· Assess the biochemistry of magnesium and its utility in the treatment of ADHD
· Analyze the relationship between zinc and copper and their potential role in ADHD pathology and treatment
· Review the relationship between lead toxicity and ADHD
· Illustrate the role of iron deficiency as it relates to ADHD

Module 4: 

· Summarize the biochemical role of specific B vitamins in mental health
· Assess the potential of vitamin D for ADHD treatment

Module 5: 

· Describe the reasoning and use of amino acid neurotransmitter precursors for mental health
· Evaluate the potential benefits and utility of omega-3 fatty acids for ADHD

Module 6: 

· Outline the role of nutrition and ultraprocessed foods in mental health and ADHD
· Summarize the effects of excess sugar consumption on ADHD 

Module 7: 

· Evaluate the relevance of celiac disease and ADHD
· Describe the biochemistry and potential mental health effects of casomorphin and gliadorphin
· Assess the relationship between food allergies and ADHD
· Apply the findings in the literature on addressing food additives and ADHD symptoms

Module 8: 

· Assess the relationship between gut flora and mental health
· Utilize treatments to address gut flora imbalances, including probiotics and antimicrobials

Module 9: 

· Appraise the relevance of brain waves and ADHD
· Distinguish the potential benefits of OPCs and their effects on mental health and ADHD symptoms

ACTIVITY OVERVIEW  
This nine-module course introduces Dr. Greenblatt’s breakthrough Plus/Minus treatment plan for ADHD patients, while also providing a comprehensive overview of the biochemistry that contributes to this disorder. Treatment strategies, such as specific nutrient deficiencies, macro- and micronutrients, amino acids precursors, lithium, diet, inflammation and more, will be discussed in-depth as a supplement or alternative to medication. 

This on-demand webcast is available with synchronized slides and video/audio.  

To be eligible for documentation of credit for each session attended, learners must participate in the activity and complete the activity evaluation. Participants who complete the evaluation online within active dates of the training will receive documentation of credit. Your certificate may not load if you are accessing it from a smartphone, or if your browser settings do not allow a new tab/window to open.   

Once a certificate has been claimed, physicians and pharmacists may elect for credits to be submitted on their behalf to their boards via additional fields that will appear within the Claim Certificate page. Credits must be submitted through this process to be reported to the American Board of Surgery and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy.

This continuing nursing education internet enduring activity awards 4.5 contact hours. Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #18006, for 4.5 contact hours. 

NURSE PRACTITIONERS  
American Academy of Nurse Practitioners National Certification Program accepts AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM from organizations accredited by the ACCME.  

PHYSICIAN ASSOCIATES/ASSISTANTS  

 
HMP Education has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit(s) for activities planned in accordance with the AAPA CME Criteria. This internet enduring activity is designated for 4.5 AAPA Category 1 credits. Approval is valid until December 31, 2026. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.  

DIETITIANS

Completion of this RD/DTR profession-specific of IPCE activity awards CPEUs (One IPCE credit = One CPEU). If the activity is dietetics-related but not targeted to RDs or DTRs, CPEUs may be claimed which are commensurate with participation in contact hours (One 60 minute hour = 1 CPEU). RDs and DTRs are to select activity type 102 in their Activity Log. Peformance indicator selection is at the learner’s discretion.

PSYCHOLOGISTS  

 Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs. This enduring activity awards 4.5 CE Credits.  

SOCIAL WORKERS  
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, HMP Education is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this internet enduring course receive 4.5 continuing education credits.   

NATUROPATHIS PHYSICIANS
The activity is certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™, ANCC nursing credit, and/or ACPE pharmacy credit. The following states currently accept one or more of these credit types toward naturopathic CE requirements: Arizona, California, Maine, Minnesota, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington, and Wisconsin. Naturopathic doctors (NDs) licensed in these states may be eligible to apply the credit earned from this activity toward their CE requirements. Licensees are responsible for verifying applicability with their state licensing board, as acceptance criteria may vary and are subject to change.
