Learn how an integrative, functional medicine approach offers the possibility to heal and reverse what otherwise can be a devastating neuropsychiatric illness.

Overview

We are facing an epidemic of childhood anxiety and autoimmune encephalitis in the form of PANS/PANDAS. As integrative practitioners it’s not a matter of IF, it’s a matter of WHEN you will see a child with PANS/PANDAS. Most children will not have access to more aggressive hospital-based interventions such as IVIG, plasmapheresis, corticosteroid infusions or immunosuppressant medications.

However, even these interventions are focused on suppression and not reversal of the underlying disease process. An integrative functional medicine approach offers the possibility to heal and reverse what otherwise can be a devastating neuropsychiatric illness. During this session, we will explore the underlying pathophysiology and biomedical imbalances that underlie PANS/PANDAS, and how to use a functional and integrative pediatric approach to address root causes and heal from the inside out.
