Functional Medicine for Eating Disorders Training Bundle (November 2025)
Transform how you treat eating disorders—and how patients recover.
Eating disorders are among the most challenging psychiatric conditions to treat, with high relapse rates and devastating health consequences. Traditional care models often focus on symptom management and caloric restoration, but lasting recovery requires a deeper, root-cause approach.
This brand-new intensive training program, led by pioneering psychiatrist and best-selling author, James Greenblatt, MD, blends decades of research, clinical practice, and functional medicine insights. Drawing from Dr. Greenblatt’s popular courses on anorexia and binge eating disorder, this comprehensive training equips clinicians with protocols to address the unique biochemical, nutritional, and metabolic drivers underlying eating disorders.
START DATE & LIVE SESSIONS: Training begins November 18. Live sessions are scheduled for November 18th and December 2nd.

In this training, you’ll learn:
With over three decades of experience and a substantial patient base, Dr. Greenblatt provides the necessary knowledge and nutritional psychiatric interventions to understand and treat the underlying causes of anorexia nervosa, binge eating disorder and food addiction.
This 3-module course, presented by Dr. James Greenblatt, introduces a functional medicine model for anorexia nervosa (AN) treatment and recovery, in which the concept of anorexia nervosa is the result of a complex and biologically-mediated interplay between environmental, psychosocial, and metabolic factors is explored. Research supporting associations between metabolic abnormalities, dyslipidemia, micronutrient imbalances, and systemic inflammation will be objectively reviewed, illuminating critical treatment targets for today’s functional psychiatry practice and providing an empirically validated blueprint for personalized interventions. Upon completion, trainees will be able to substantiate the clinical utility of a functional medicine approach for anorexia nervosa, and safely incorporate evidence-based treatment strategies into existing therapeutic models to maximize patient outcomes.
This two-module online course serves introduces Dr. Greenblatt’s breakthrough New Hope Model for BED patients. The New Hope Model is the cornerstone for the training, and teaches you how to identify imbalances in the brain, assess and treat via lab testing, and correct deficiencies and excesses through nutritional supplementation and augmentation. You’ll learn how the gut-brain connection and microbiome influence eating behaviors, along with how and what medications fit into treatment for each patient.
Join global speakers to explore the research, clinical challenges, and controversies associated with Binge-Eating Disorder (BED) and food addiction, and discover an evidence-based functional medicine approach to treatment. You’ll get 7 exclusive symposium lectures, providing you with the tools to better support patients in mastering balance, and relinquishing shame and guilt associated with these conditions.
Join Dr. Greenblatt to learn clinically-proven models to use immediately with your patients—all directly from the pioneering physician who has helped thousands of patient with eating disorders get better.
